Geoff Wardle - Keynote Day 1

Geoffrey M. Wardle is a partner with Clark Wardle LLP, a boutique of development attorneys in Boise, Idaho.  He previously served as General Counsel for a regional developer of commercial, retail, and medical properties throughout Utah and Idaho.  He has recently founded MoRE for Nonprofits, a consultancy providing real estate management services to nonprofit entities.

Geoff is both a BOMA Fellow and a Fellow in the American College of Real Estate Lawyers.   He earned a B.A., summa cum laude, from the University of Utah, and a J.D., cum laude, from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, where he was a contributing editor to the school’s law review.

Brent Bateman - Morning Keynote Day 2

Brent Bateman has been a full-time land use and development attorney for nearly 30 years. After spending 13 years as the Utah State Property Rights Ombudsman, he is now in private legal practice at Dentons Durham Jones Pinegar, where he represents developers. Yes he represents developers. He is fully aware that this is a government-side conference, so it may feel a little like the rebellion inviting Darth Vader to give a keynote address. Feel free to bring tomatoes to hurl if that is your inclination. Brent will point out, however (for his own safety), that having worked in government he is very fair minded, that he gets invited to speak at government conferences frequently without major injury -- and gets invited back often, and that he seeks peace, not war. Moreover, without getting into a debate about who is the Jedi and who is the Sith in this relationship, Brent would like to point out the extreme value of insights into the mind of a key member of the opposition.

Jeremy Blair - Lunch Keynote Day 2

Jeremy Blair is the senior vice president of finance and chief investment officer at Mountain America Credit Union. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing corporate investments, liquidity management and interest rate risk management. He also serves as a financial advisor to the CEO and executive team to support strategic planning and develop methods for tracking revenue and expenses.

Prior to joining Mountain America Credit Union, Blair was a senior advisor at Catalyst Strategic Solutions. While there, he advised financial institutions on liquidity management, including interest rate risk exposure, cash flow forecasting and investment portfolio structure. He is an expert at growth strategy and processing organizations’ financial activities to maximize profits. His expertise also includes data analysis, which he uses to advise executives on how to act on data-backed strategies to ensure short- and long-term growth and compliance with financial laws and regulations.

Blair graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Arts in finance and received an MBA in strategic management. He is married and the father of three children. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family, traveling and exploring all the outdoor activities the Mountain West has to offer.
